Counseling for sexual trauma

The impact of sexual trauma, including sexual abuse, incest, rape, and other unwanted sexual encounters can lead to a lifetime of shame and feelings of powerlessness. You are not alone.  1 in 4 women will experience sexual abuse within their lifetimes and 1 in 6 men will experience sexual abuse.  Many people keep the abuse they suffered a secret for decades, especially if they were afraid of the perpetrator or confused about the abuse. Often people who have experienced sexual trauma carry a great deal of shame, struggle to assert their needs, have body issues, sexual issues, dissociation, lack of identity, and feelings of unworthiness.

While working toward healing sexual trauma requires a great deal of courage, healing is possible if you are ready to take that step.  I utilize a combination of EMDR therapy, the Flash Technique, Trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Internal Family Systems therapy to help you work to heal your trauma.  These are all evidence based therapies I have utilized for years with a multidude of clients who have experienced healing and transformation as a result.
